Nneka Jenkins, the founder of Onyx Wealth Realty, is passionate about helping her clients build wealth and achieve real estate goals. A seasoned professional, she has completed more than 300 transactions totaling $350 million — all while growing her family to six kids with her extremely supportive husband and business partner. She attributes much of her shining success to her resourcefulness and her partnerships with those around her. Her clients and team, she says, are like family, and she treats them with the respect, honor, and diligence they deserve.

 

Though she was born in Nigeria to a financially fortunate family, Nneka’s family moved in pursuit of an opportunity to the U.S., where life turned on its head culturally, monetarily, and familywise. Her parents separated, and in watching her mother support three children, Nneka gained an intimate understanding of the systemic issues that hinder people from attaining and maintaining generational wealth.

 

Having experienced firsthand the racial wealth gap, Nneka not only understands but has overcome the challenges of people of color and those of lower socioeconomic strata. Choosing real estate as her path to build wealth, Nneka purchased her first home in 2015 (leveraging her husband’s veteran status and VA loan) and has gone on to build a multimillion-dollar portfolio of investment properties, many of which they have remodeled. In 2021, she and her husband, Calvin, fulfilled a longtime dream of designing and building their own custom dream home from the ground up.

 

Nneka uses her personal and professional expertise to serve a diverse clientele, including experienced investors, first-time buyers, luxury buyers and sellers, and Veterans Affairs and FHA borrowers. Her clients value her trustworthiness, calming presence, thorough and educational explanations, and expert ability to keep any transaction proceeding smoothly. After earning her bachelor’s degree from the University of Arizona, Nneka moved to San Jose to work in operations and research and development in the medical technology industry. While working full-time, supporting her two bonus children, and pregnant with her first child, she attained her MBA. Along the way, Nneka began investing in properties as a way to build wealth, and her friends turned to her more and more for help with real estate transactions, investments, and property management advice. Loving the experience of helping people reach their property goals, she capitalized on her talents, soon managing corporate relocation for such companies as Apple, Google, and Tesla. It wasn’t long before she was a licensed Realtor®. A people person adept at building rapport and a master negotiator with skills honed through years of management experience, Nneka is dedicated to using everything at her disposal to get the best deals for her clients.

 

A longtime resident of the Bay Area, Nneka is enthusiastic about giving back to her community. “After all,” she says, “not everyone you consider family is by blood.” Because she always operates from a mindset of abundance and gratitude, Nneka runs her own foundation, the Onyx Wealth GIVESFoundation, which provides funding to help clients and friends build generational wealth. A devoted mother of six, Nneka instills the value of education in her children, and she and Calvin work hard to provide them with every opportunity.
